well anyway, I'm working on a new Maximum Ride fanart. it's not that big a surprise though, because it's pretty much the same thing as to what I've already drawn before. Instead this one isn't a sketch anymore. I did change Gazzy, Angel and Max a bit, so don't know how people would take it. lol.... well I hope I could post it soon, if my instructors would cut me some slack, that is...

later......

I don't even know if anyone reads this thing, but oh well.

i like your style of coloring on your dbz collages im trying to figure out what works for me. i was curious though about what you mean by color pens. i know it should be self explanitory but im not sure if you mean markers or actual pens..i tried one with colored pencil and black ink but it still just didnt give me the effect im using .1mm - .7 mm staedtler sketch pens.
:iconxyruss:
I'm sorry, I guess here you call them markers. and they're not even the expensive kinds. I got the Crayola markers on all my colored drawings, esp. on the dbz ones. and don't for get to use a vellum paper. they're like tracing papers only thicker. and use the black inked pens in the front of the paper, when you add color, make sure to color the back of it. so you wont bleed through the black pens. that's how i did mine coz it was a constant pain trying to avoid the bleedings on both inks and markers. make sure to test this technique first on a seperate vellum paper so you can see how it works before applying this on the final drawing ur doing.

good luck!!!! oh and the silver sharpie is just for additional effect. Also, when u are practicing on the markers, try wiping it off with a clean table napkin to have a faded effect especially on what i did on the skin. but make sure to wipe it gently and quickly as soon as u apply it.k? for the skin color, i used that tan color or really light brown markers on crayola 20 pcs. set. u'll see it when u buy it. and that is only for the shadow part. then for the light part of the skin just use the TAN color pencil for ordinary people. but if ur drawing them in their SSj form, the skin color for the dark areas is that peach like color before the brown color in the 20 pcs. crayola markers set. then on the lighter shade, u can use the peach color pencil. make sure to color them lightly to they won't look to peachy.

make sure to have a colored pic for reference so u can match the color as close as u can. tell me what u think about this process.

also one more question lol sorry. but on the lighter areas of skin do you use the colored pencils on the front like you used the black ink or on the back where you used the markers? lol thanks again
:iconxyruss:
on the back, know why? coz when the tip of the colored pencil hits the black ink or somethin it could scratch it, it did on mine so i guess it depends on the black inked pens ur using. and make sure ti wipe the are u colered penciled in with a tissue, it helps smooth things out.
